Important Appointment Info & FAQs

How does Kinesiology work?

Kinesiology is one of the most comprehensive healing modalities available. Using muscle testing to obtain information from the subconscious mind combined with the principles of Chinese Medicine, your body provides the feedback we need to accurately detect and correct imbalances to restore the body’s natural balance and ignite its innate healing abilities.

In addition to my extensive Kinesiology training, I can draw on my professional training in other healing modalities, such as EFT, Reiki, NLP, CTC Therapy, Hypnosis and Wellness Coaching to enhance your session. I can also utilise my qualifications in Community Development and Welfare and further experience working with eating disorders, holistic mental health and addiction recovery, where appropriate

What happens in a Kinesiology session?
At your initial session, we will discuss anything required within the client history that you have provided. I will look at your reasons for the appointment, where you are currently at, the issue/concerns that are present for you and where you would like to be. You will stay fully clothed and will spend most of the session lying down (unless you need to sit due to any discomfort) on the massage table. I will perform various assessments and then we will proceed further into the balance. The balancing aspect is about utilising a comprehensive range of tools and techniques to bring the body back to a state of balance and equilibrium on all levels, emotionally, physically, chemically and mentally. The techniques and tools include, but are not limited to:
  • Emotional techniques
  • Behaviour repatterning
  • Belief system repatterning
  • Acupressure points
  • Nutritional and diet support
  • Recommendations on vitamins, minerals and herbs
  • Brain integration
  • Neuro emotional pathways
  • Neuro-lymphatic points
  • Neuro-vascular points
  • Mindfulness techniques
  • Meridians
  • Crystals
  • EFT tapping
  • Flower essences
  • Energy essences
  • Essential oils
  • Detoxification processes
  • Sound balancing
  • Colour balancing
  • Tissue salts
  • Muscle and joint balancing techniques
  • And many more…
A kinesiology balance isn’t painful and for the most part is quite relaxing. To get the most out of the session, I encourage an open mind, trust the process and go with the flow.
How do I prepare for a Kinesiology session?

– For your initial appointment, please ensure you have completed the provided client history form (which will have been emailed to you) and return it via email at least 24 hours prior to your appointment.
– Dress comfortably and wear pants or tights if possible.
– Drink lots of water prior to your appointment to ensure you are well hydrated.
– If possible, avoid alcohol the night prior and ideally, for a day or two after to ensure that it doesn’t impact the effectiveness of the session.

How many sessions will I need and how far apart?

Kinesiology isn’t a ‘quick fix’ and the sessions required will be dependent on the person, their needs and the issue/s at hand. As a general guide, a minimumof 3 sessions is pretty standard. More complex issues will require more sessions. In saying that, there have been many individuals who have had significant shifts in as little as 1-2 sessions and individuals that have had long standing and layered complex issues who have needed support over a longer period of time.

For the initial sessions, it’s most beneficial to conduct them between 1-4 weeks apart. After this, it’s not uncommon for individuals to want to continue to expand on their health and wellbeing and continue seeing a Kinesiologist. If this is the case, I’d recommend between 4-8 weeks apart. Alternatively, some individuals will have sessions a couple of times a year as new matters arise.

How will I feel after a Kinesiology session?
It’s normal to have different experiences following a Kinesiology session. It’s common to feel lighter, more energised and have increased awareness and clarity. It’s also common to feel tired and more emotional for a short period of time. Either way, these are positive signs that the body is shifting, releasing and processing and you’re moving closer to where you want to be.
What do I need to do after a Kinesiology session?

– Drink plenty of water over the next 24-48 hours to assist with any detoxification processes.
– Honour your body’s need for additional rest and relaxation if required.
– Follow the home support information that has been provided to you (if applicable)

Can I see a Kinesiologist if I am trying to conceive or pregnant?
Yes, Kinesiology is completely safe if you are trying to conceive or are pregnant and can be really beneficial in both of these circumstances. Just ensure you mention this on your client history, or in your initial session.
Can I see a Kinesiologist if I am seeing a Psychologist or Western Medicine practitioner or taking medication/s?
Yes, Kinesiology is complementary to Western Medicine and works beautifully alongside other treatments and medications.
Do you see babies or children?

No, I no longer see babies or children (only due to being permanently booked out)

How long is a Kinesiology session?

90 minutes for your initial session.
75 minutes for a follow up session.

Please note I work quite intuitively and don’t work strictly to time. So, for this reason, please allow extra time beyond what is stated above. If your body is ok to continue, I will go until we are done. If you are needing to work to a set time, please let me know at the start of your session.

What is the cancellation policy?

Your appointment is very important to me and I put in a lot of preparation prior to your appointment day.
I understand that sometimes schedule adjustments are necessary.
Please understand when you cancel your appointment without giving enough notice, I miss the opportunity to fill that appointment time and my clients who are often on a waiting list, miss the opportunity to receive my services.

Since the appointment time is reserved for you, I have the following cancellation policy:
Less than 48 hours’ notice will result in a charge equal to 100% of the appointment fee
Less than 72 hours’ notice will result in a charge equal to 50% of the appointment fee
